anyone got anything good that isnt a radio i could make with them?

i was thinking a little pre amp for a turntable maybe? or a theramin? did they ever make tube theramins?

Preamps are silly easy.

6AQ8 is what, triode pentode? Maybe a mu stage or buffer or something.

the 6AQ8/ECC85 is a dual triode and supposedly one of the best pre-amp/low level tubes going .
the 6BA6 is a pentode and commonly used for low rf work ... very popular in AM radios .

Incidentially, 6BA6 is no good for audio, it's a variable gain tube, which means it's nonlinear. Might produce a "mellow" sound in a guitar preamp though.
