I need a kind soul to help me with a little electronics project, I used to program computers but 'ill health' means I can't learn a great deal anymore, so I'm here to ask for help.

I need basically, my hand held, I need to a remote control transeiver to output 9v on the receiver end, and the transmitter to be just 'ON' ( a button). Would a kind user please give a link to an ebay item, or from a uk electronics supplier (preferably as it may have proper English instructions). This is a stretch, but I'd rather not have an IC component as they've all got back-doors, but I'll take one at a pinch.

Very kind of you to help me, in advance, as they say..so : thanks!

it dosent get easier than that. no instructions needed. just 12vdc power to the unit and a switch.

What about an IR controlled Relay? We used one of these to drop a projection screen. Came with a remote. Point and it'd 'switch on' various outputs.

What are you controlling?

Wow you look quite normal for a geek.

Yeah, more specific details would help.

For example, do you need the controller to "toggle" a relay on and off with each button press, or just be "on" only while the button is pressed?
