Hi all,

I want to ask if someone can create a simple Gerber file for me so I can have a PCB made up but I'm not sure if a) this is appropriate to ask on these forums and cool.gif if so, where (what sub-forum)?

The PCB uses one component (albeit 14 of them) and is double sided. I've done the electrical diagram and even 'prototyped' a possible solution in Visio. All I need is someone who can use CADSoft etc to convert it to Gerber files for me. I'm more than willing to pay for this.

Now because money is involved and I’m technically trying to hire someone, I need to know if it's appropriate for these forums first and foremost.

Any ideas?

- Matt

EDIT: I should point out that I tired doing this myself with CADsoft, and found an excellent tutorial but got stuck at the very first step - creating the foot print for the component. I just couldnt get the dimensions right. So maybe some help with that would get me on my way...

as far as i know Dutchforce is a DIY forum.
Probably You should ask if someone can show how to make those gerber files.
I highly doubt anyone would be willing to do it for money.

Yeah that's what I thought, hence why I asked first smile.gif

I'm going to go through the process again tonight to see what I can do and if I get into any difficulties I'll be back for advice.

Thanks.

Forum rules do not prohibit members from doing work for (or selling/trading items to) other members for monetary fees and/or other consideration.

However, transactions between members are strictly between those members involved. The forum, its owners, and other (non-involved) members are under no legal obligation (implied or otherwise) if something goes awry with those transactions.

AFAIK anyway. See my signature... beer.gif

haha no worries Mac. I spent a few minutes before tracking down some tutorials for Eagle. If I can get the custom component made properly then the rest should fall in place. My only concern will be getting the PCB traces right on the double sided board - so I'll see how powerful the auto-trace (or whatever it is called) feature in Eagle really is...

yep ... a few members here have done "contract" work for other members .
this was initiated "out front" (much as you have done) and from there handled via PM to get the ball rolling ...
from that point it is handled via personal email accounts .
