To be honest, I don't really know, but I suspect that this series broke with the conventions at the time. In Norway at that time we only had 1 TV channel, the official one, financed by a licence fee you had to pay if you owned a TV. (We still have for that matter, in addition to all the other channels we have today).

In 1969, childrens television programs were very educational or just fairytales. This series 'Pompel and Pilt' was neither, more like a free form happening. The little guys, Pompel and Pilt, was continous on the outlook for 'repairing' things. This always ended up in a rather disruptive way. The Gorgon character always ended up reciting meaningless words and so on.

Anyway, complaints told that children was scared of the characters and their behavior, but I suspect the more conservative of the parents didn't like the free form, or lack of form really.

I myself was not in the target age group, but at the time we saw most of the programs due to the lack of them. The series was later raised to cult status, and reappeared several times on TV, all five episodes. laugh.gif

'Kelly' was a magazine cartoon character who found a 'magic diamond' (called the 'Eye') that, when worn, gave the wearer super strength and invincibility.

Can't for the life of me explain why I came to use it. Probably because anything else realted to Dave (my name) was taken by all and sundry (Dave2001, Dave01, Dave 02 etc etc).

Registered it with Yahoo years and years ago and still using it.

Well one day I was trying to think of a name for e-mail, forums, gamer tags, etc. and even my website(www.straightexhaust.com), and something that I really liked and thats a good sounding exhaust system but more specifically my coined phrase "straightexhaust" which ive decided to make it mean without any mufflers just straight pipes and a cat for emmission purposes.

Not a bad idea thumbsup.gif

I'll go change the title to make it a bit clearer.

Erm...I don't get to edit "subject"? blink.gif

Answering questions is a tricky subject to practice. Not due to the difficulty of formulating or locating answers, but due to the human inability of asking the right questions; a skill that, were one to possess, would put them in the "answering" category.
