First of all hello...

What I intend to do is to connect via RF two devices with bidirectional communication, with a cheap low power devices.

The requisites are:
Low power
A range capable of covering a full house (3 bedrooms, living room dinner room, kitchen).
Security, if possible it should be secure enough so that two neighbors do not interfere with each other.
If possible I would like to have the rf communication and the CPU on the same chip but this is not a must have feature. (a paring feature like the zigbee would be great)
Also if possible if they have a development module it would be better.

Can anyone give me some ideas and components that could do this?

In time I used Xbee zigbee modules but they are expensive.

I already searched a bit and found the CC1110 from texas instruments
http://www.ti.com/tool/cc1110dk-mini-868
Does any one know something similar?

There are some PIC uC's with RF stuff built in,called "rfPIC" I think you could pick from 430 or 960?Mhz varieties.

As far as RF modules, there are several wireless serial modules available, some are dirt cheap, like $5 for the pair.
Here's a transciever for $10 (Uses the same chip you linked above)

Also,don't forget about Bluetooth.

Yes this ones look like something that is like what I am looking for.

After a careful thinking at a first try I will focus in a complete solution on board uc + transciver or a SOC. But I will also check this one.

Also,don't forget about Bluetooth.

Bluetooth is not a option. Because the range is not sufficient.
thanks.

Also if possible if the modules can be conected as a mesh network. Would be great.

Another feature that I would like is a paring like a zigbee mode.

Most of the features you asking for are actually in the firmware, and not the RF...

The Radiocrafts RF modules handle most of the RF Pairing stuff with the built in firmware. I've got some experience with them as witnessed on this thread (they also based on the TI's CC1110) and using an ATTiny Uc with them could cover your needs...

The key is the software/Firmware that you'll be writing to connect the two modules together..
