Title pretty well says it all.
http://i815.photobucket.com/albums/zz79/Ji...zps048dce2f.jpg Edit, upon further inspection, the female bit it threads into has an O ring that seals against the 'collapse flair' part of the tube. Dunno specifically, looks like any one of a myriad of OEM automotive AC fittings.

Does this help?
http://valvesupply.ca/compressionbrass1.png I started googling automotive pipe nut which lead me to compression nuts etc. About to race out the door to start my day so am not much help! Damien -------------------- Wow you look quite normal for a geek.

Nope, not a compression type. The 'ring' in the pic is actually the tubing cold worked to produce the flat bulge, not a slip on compression ring.
Odd, I was hoping to stumble across a diagram just going through some common supplier catalogs, but nothing that looks like this - although I've seen them in use, I never actually knew what they were called. I'm actually wondering if I can fit a NPT brass thread to 1/4" barb adaptor in the female bits where these went, but going through my fitting box, I don't have anything that'll thread by a mile. -------------------- Hey! what's in here - is it a toy? oh. That's not a tapered thread. If it were it would contradict the flare seal. You could just lightly double flare the pipe to make a bulge then hose clamp a hose past it. |

You're of course correct, but ghetto or not, I've seen a few fortunate instances where "hey, that threads in" (NPTF straight thread) - or even if only only once

There's a hydro specialist down the road from me, and i've taken some weird and wonderful stuff down to him for fittings.
One such fitting had very similar design/ Mechanics, for an old portable LPG stove.. It's a bubble flare fitting, and needs some specialized equipment to make. Example of kit here.. the second tube in the pic looks like your's ... hope this helps.... -------------------- What i know about Electronics is dangerous...
Why cant i use a 7812 on the supply line to get my +12V ??? ;) |

Yeah, that looks like it. Never heard the term before. I have a single and double flare kit, but it doesn't have the same bits to do these. Thanks.
