Sir,
I am using renewable sources like wind for my project..
I need to supply 1.5 to 2 v dc to my amplifier circuit and then to load...
I am using computer brush fan as source ...it just gave output upto 2.5v in ideal state when i connected to multimeter in dc mode...but when i give the output of the comp fan to my circuit..it is not working/.. doh.gif

note: My circuit is working well when i gave 1.5v dc supply thru DCRPS..

Please let me know whether the out of computer brush fan is dc or ac....
if dc .,what is the mistake in it..
if AC, then, what will be the design of bridge rectifier.. thumbsup.gif

those brushless motors are usually 3 phase.

It can be done, but you need to remove the circuitry and install rectifiers to turn the 3 phase ac into dc.

If it's a brushed motor, it's probably DC. And it measured as DC on your meter... mellow.gif

Not sure what you're trying to power with it, but available current will be pretty low.

99% of the average modern computer fans are brushless ... they will not put out anything when they are spun up .
they have internal circuitry that generates the "drive" .

the old (and i do mean old) "muffin" fans were a line frequency driven brushless (induction) motor ...
yeah , you could spin one of those up and get maybe a volt or two at 20mA .

are you certain that the fan you are using is indeed a "brushed" type ?

an AC brushed motor? unsure.gif the only application i can think of resides in my wife's second drawer, poorly concealed by the outer packaging of a box of cadbury chocolates, yet unknown to me due to the tissue paper wrapping that cleverly conceals a vibrator that eclipses my dimensions.. hypothetically of course, but just sayin'.. sleep.gif

Hand grinders, hand-held drills, sewing machine motors... mostly high powered and small sized stuff. beer.gif

"mostly high powered and small sized stuff."

and hence the reference to his spouse's -*ahem*- "tool box" .

They are also deemed as universal and will run of AC or DC AFAIK

Only if designated as AC/DC, though some will run on DC for brief periods before damage occurs.

This is a common problem with cheap AC hand grinders on portable DC welders (their 120V outlets are also DC). beer.gif
