Hi all,
I need urgent help in designing an 8-bit microprocessor emulator. The project requirements are as follows:

Project Title:
8-bit Microprocessor Emulator

Proposed Tools:
TTL logic chips, Microcontroller

Project Outcome
1. A discrete hardware emulator of a simple 8-bit CISC microprocessor using TTL logic chips.
2. Able to run a subset of assembly code compiled on a PC and downloaded to the emulator.
3. Able to display the data on the data-path of the processor.

Can anyone give a clear guideline as to how to build a simple one but fulfills the requirements within a month? Many thanks in advance. SOS! ohmy.gif

HOMEWORK:

Next thing is if you Googled it a little, you'll find many people doing exactly this.. Some with the ability to run the full set of 8 bit assembly code...

However dont think that you'll get the designs for this handed to you, you'll need to do this yourself....

What i know about Electronics is dangerous...
Why cant i use a 7812 on the supply line to get my +12V ??? ;)

'Fraid not... we know the point of homework is to learn from it. It would be foolish of us to do it for you.

--------------------
Answering questions is a tricky subject to practice. Not due to the difficulty of formulating or locating answers, but due to the human inability of asking the right questions; a skill that, were one to possess, would put them in the "answering" category.
